Watch aficionados and journalists were eagerly assembling to a virtually-sleepy corner of Switzerland for the world’s biggest and popular watch event – Baselworld 2019. Finally, the Baselworld 2019 watch fair took place from 21st -26th March, unveiling a wide range of new and fine watches for collectors to covet. Among the plethora of new releases from many highly esteemed manufacturers, here are the five best new timepieces from Baselworld 2019. Whether you are looking to ‘sell my luxury watch’, or ‘sell watch’ to potential watch buyers in London, be sure first to check out these five timepieces (you may want to upgrade your collection).
Rolex’s landmark release for 2019 is the GMT-Master II ‘Batman’. The watch is an illustration of outstanding mechanical beauty and simplicity. While the case is finished with a comfort link and agile Oyster lock, it has been recalibrated to catch the light slightly better. The new 40 mm Rolex GMT-Master II also houses a new generation ‘movement’ and priced for £7,150.
The Breitling Norton Premier is a new revamp model of the dressier Premier collection that Breitling introduced earlier this year. However, the chronograph is known to be the proximate result of collaboration between the Swiss marquee and the British motorcycle manufacturer.
The new 42mm Breitling Norton Premier features retro gold indices and vintage leather strap. The watch is indeed a great addition to the latest retro trend and comes in nearly at £6,700.
Although since 1992 Rolex has been manufacturing Yacht-Master timepieces, they have been this big for the first time. The brand has launched a 42mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master for 2019. The watch is available in white gold and houses a new generation movement Calibre 3235.
Moreover, the new Rolex Yacht-Master 42 features an elegant black dial, a cerachrom bezel and an Oysterflex bracelet and it is priced for £21,400.
Patek Philippe released a new self-winding complication that incorporates its ‘Travel Time’ dual time zone system. The watch also sports a 24-hour alarm mechanism, comes with a hammer that bangs on a gong inside it. The manufacturer produced an entirely new integrated movement for achieving this and registered four patents only to keep the alarm in the process.
The new Patek Philippe Travel Time watch comes with a 42.2mm watch case, a digital 24hour display and is water-resistant up to 30m. The price tag is £173,620.
Tudor Black Bay is made based on an archetype diving timepiece authorised by and designed for the US Navy in 1968. Originally nicknamed as ‘Commando’, just five models were ever built. While the original watch had a claw-like clasp to lock the timepiece during diving, the feature has been more refined in this new Tudor Black Bay P01 watch.
The watch flaunts the hybrid strap with rubber interiorly and leather exteriorly for enabling it to function well both in and out of the water. The42mm Tudor Black Bay P01 has a steel body, black dial, 12-hour bezel and also a power reserve of 70hours with price £2,830.
So, these are the five of the best watches launched at the annual Baselworld watch fair of 2019.
